First Entrepreneurship Awareness Session Organized by the University

I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University has been empanelled under Prime Minister YUVA Yojana, which is an initiative of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The aim of this scheme is to create eco system for Entrepreneurship development through Entrepreneurship education & training. For Punjabi youth IKG PTU empanelled with this as per its available strength.

In this regard first an entrepreneurship awareness session was held today at University’s main campus. Ms Monika Sharma, Nodal coordinator, Nodal E-Hub, Noida visited I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University and addressed about the scheme in detail. She said that university will provide online Entrepreneurship Education to the Youth of Punjab which create an eco system for entrepreneurship in the state. She said that the project will promote development of social enterprises in the rural areas of Punjab so that self employment may be created among the rural youth. She briefed that under PM YUVA Yojna Ministry of Skill Development and I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University will work jointly to connect young entrepreneurs of Punjab with the industry mentors and funding agencies to promote start-ups in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr A.P. Singh, Dean R & D said that I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University is committed to provide best employment and self employment opportunities to the Youth of Punjab. He said that University is coming up with a start-up policy which will instil sprite of Entrepreneurship among the students of University and affiliated colleges. He said that E-Cells have already been established in all Academic departments of the University to run PM YUVA Yojana in a successful way. University’s E-cell faculty coordinators, E-Cell student coordinators and the students of University were also present during the session.
